One step at a time
not peering ahead
thinking: "How will I cope with it?
Where will I tread?"
Not looking behind me
unless it's to learn
from things that have happened
then from them to turn.
One step at a time
Only then will I know
His joy and assurance
as with Him I go.
And facing the coming days
peace can be mine
in simple dependence -
one step at a time.
